Horse racing & greyhounds

Racing sits last on this site, but it still runs on terms found nowhere else in betting. This section lists the ones that change what a racing bet pays.

Each-way means a win bet plus a place bet, equal in size, so the outlay is doubled. Starting price and ante-post belong to the same family, and non-runners bring the Rule 4 deduction. Tips for horses and greyhounds close the list.

Duty draws the sharpest line. From 1 April 2027 remote betting generally moves to 25%, yet remote bets on UK horse racing are held at 15%, and pool betting stays at 15% under its own duty.
