Tennis, darts & cue sports

A rugby result is spread over a whole squad; in tennis or darts it rests on one pair of hands. This section shows how that narrower base changes the margin and the movement of a price.

Snooker, golf and darts sit beside tennis; padel, badminton and table tennis come lower down, with curling and chess as oddities. Golf brings each-way betting, in which the number of places and the fraction depend on the event and the operator and are taken from the market.

Britain publishes no statutory list of permitted markets. A licence is granted for a category, real events for example, and the operator decides which lines to open, so one sport can be offered on quite different terms at neighbouring bookmakers.
